    Conservatives publish proposals for dentistry

The Conservative Party this week published the health chapter of the draft manifesto ahead of the General Election that must take place this year. The manifesto reiterates previously-publicised Conservative commitments to introduce a new dental contract, tie newly-qualified dentists to the NHS and allow dentists to fine patients who consistently fail to attend appointments. Pledges to increase access and cut unnecessary appointments are also renewed.

The manifesto is available at: http://www.conservatives.com/News/News_stories/2010/01/~/media/Files/Downloadable%20Files/DraftHealthManifestopdf.ashx.

The leader of the Conservative Party, David Cameron, will be answering questions on the NHS in a live webcast on Friday 8 January. Questions can be submitted at http://www.conservatives.com/Draft_Manifesto.aspx.
