Aims

Provide practitioners with an update on the CQC, dental indemnity / insurance, and the changing face of dentistry.

Learning objectives
  • To understand the role of the CQC
  • To understand recent changes in Dental indemnity/insurance
  • To discuss the future of dentistry including the new contract reforms, scope of practice changes and changes in the way the dental workforce is trained.
Learning content

John Milne will be discussing the changing role of the CQC and how practitioners should prepare. There will be an in depth discussion of dental indemnity and insurance. He will be discussing some of the biggest changes in dentistry and provide an idea of what the future of dentistry might be.

John Milne MBE

John qualified from Leeds Dental School in 1980 and has worked in General Dental Practice since then. John has been involved in dental politics at both local and national level, representing colleagues through the local dental committee and at national level, having previously been the Chair of the BDA’s General Dental Practice Committee where he has been involved in NHS contract reform. John Milne works closely with the CQC as a senior national dental adviser. He is also a practicing dentist in West Yorkshire. His areas includes dental indemnity / insurance, dento-legal topics and the role of the CQC.
