NHS GDS guide to standard contract - England and Wales

This advice is about NHS standard GDS contracts and PDS agreements used by Primary care organisations (PCOs) in the dental practice in England and Wales.

Your decision to work in the GDS/PDS will, in part, be based on whether the contract will benefit you or your practice. The NHS standard GDS contracts and PDS agreements used by Primary care organisations (PCOs) include relevant requirements from the NHS (GDS Contracts) Regulations and the NHS (PDS Agreements) Regulations, as well as some optional clauses.

The names of the parties, the signatures, information to be included in patient leaflets and the payment schedules are included as schedules to the standard contract. The PCO can add other requirements to the standard schedule.

You should read the contract/agreement that you receive from the PCO alongside the GDS contract or PDS agreement template developed by the Department of Health to identify variations and know what you are committing yourself to.
