The mixed NHS and private practice has been part of Good Practice since 2023. They signed up because Louise previously worked at another accredited practice and recognised the value of the scheme.

Tangible benefits for staff and patients

Membership has enabled the team to systematically review and update their policies, ensuring adherence to high standards of care and service. The scheme also provides valuable, continuing professional development opportunities.

Anoushka and Louise say they appreciate the reassurance offered by the scheme, which helps staff to reduce patient complaints through proactive measures.

The framework has reinforced robust health and safety standards, and prevents complaints going forward. During a recent Denplan Excel inspection, Family Dental Care received a “very good” rating. The team attribute this success to how the Good Practice Framework helped them implement the comprehensive policies provided with BDA Expert.

Ongoing credibility

Displaying the Good Practice logo prominently both inside and outside the building has further strengthened the practice’s reputation. “The Good Practice Scheme provides a thorough standardisation of all aspects of the dental practice,” Louise says, “so it’s reassuring for both NHS and private patients to see the Good Practice logo."

The scheme’s resources, alongside the compliance advice, employment tools and NHS-related guidance received from the BDA have been pivotal in improving practice standards. Good Practice's focus on regular audits and practice meetings have allowed the team to monitor and refine their systems continuously. Compliance has significantly improved since the practice joined, and membership of BDA Good Practice has helped them to ensure all their policies are up-to-date and accurate.
