Introduction to DCT

You will find that DCT posts are mostly hospital or community-based offering you the opportunity to develop skills in an environment different from general practice. Your initial one-year DCT post is called DCT1. DCT recruitment across the UK has been nationalised, with applications opening in January. You can enter at one of three levels: DCT1, DCT2, or DCT3, with positions available in:

Maxfacs
Paediatric dentistry
Community dentistry
Oral surgery
Restorative dentistry
Oral medicine
Orthodontics
Primary care
Academia.

You will follow a similar recruitment timeline each year for the DCT application process, submitting your application through Oriel.
