Overview
As the regulatory body for dental professionals in the UK, the GDC’s primary role is to protect the public. Its responsibilities are set out in legislation and include:
- Setting learning outcomes and quality assuring pre-registration dental education and training in the UK.
- Maintaining a register of dental professionals who meet the required training and education standards.
- Defining professional standards for all registered dental professionals.
- Investigating concerns regarding a registrant’s ability to meet required standards.
