​​Sabina Mirza
Practice Management Consultant, British Dental Association

Sabina joined the BDA as a Practice Management Consultant in October 2011. She is an experienced human resources professional with Chartered membership of the CIPD.  Her specialism is people issues and management development. At the BDA Sabina provides advice and representation on all aspects of running a dental practice, focussing primarily on employment and contractual matters. Sabina also researches and updates members on the latest legal developments affecting dental practices.


Rachael Bell
Dental-Legal Adviser, MDDUS

Rachael qualified at the University of Glasgow in 1991 (BDS) and gained an MPhil in Medical Law and Ethics from the University of Glasgow in 1997. Rachael worked as a general practitioner in mixed NHS/Private vocational training practices in and around Glasgow for 22 years,  where she had an interest in dental anxiety and sedation. She is also a former clinical audit facilitator for Argyll and Clyde Health board. Rachael joined MDDUS in 2009 and now works solely for MDDUS.


Alun Rees
Dental Business Coach

Alun  is The Dental Business Coach. He graduated from Newcastle University and spent several years as an oral surgery resident before working as an associate in a range of different practices. With this solid foundation, Alun launched two practices in the space of just 15 months, a challenge in the toughest economic conditions. He sold his dental business in 2005. His background and experience give him a strong understanding of what others go through to build a successful practice. He has seen many different approaches and learned his own lessons in the real world. He is an accepted authority on practice organisation and management and has written and presented widely on the subject. He understands and appreciates the challenges, both large and small, that face dentists every day and offers specific and specialised support for dentists and their teams.

Ian Redfearn
Partner, Dentistry For All

Ian graduated from Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1990 and moved to Nelson in Lancashire in 1991 where he has worked as an associate and now partner in a large NHS practice. Non‐clinical roles have included Dental Practice Advisor for NHS Lancashire, an NCAS clinical assessor, chairman of the East Lancashire LDC and an experienced Vocational Trainer/Education Supervisor. He has volunteered on numerous occasions in Africa, most recently with Bridge2Aid
