Russell Gidney, Chair, Welsh General Dental Practice Committee

Russell qualified from Cardiff in 2002 and worked in South East Wales ever since. He completed VT then worked as an associate for five years in Caldicot before moving to a new practice in Chepstow in 2007, initially as an associate and as owner since 2009. Beaufort Park Dental Surgery in Chepstow is a mixed practice and has grown from four to six surgeries and been a DF training practice since 2015. The practice is is roughly 50:50 split and includes some special interest dentistry along side routine GDP. Russell also works as a clincial supervisor in Cardiff Dental School one day a week.

Russell joined Gwent LDC in 2015 and quickly became treasurer. He has since joined the LDC conference agenda committee and sits on Welsh GDPC, of which he has been chair since April 2021. He has developed significantly more grey hair since the profile picture but not enough to warrant a new one yet...

Donna Jackson

Donna qualified in 1988 and was a VT in North Wales in 1989. She has worked at Connahs Quay Dental Practice ever since as a mixed Private/NHS Practitioner. Donna is ES for North Wales Scheme, Chair of Flintshire Private Practitioners Group, Peer Reviewer at HIW and Clinical Team Leader Test and Trace (England).


Ruwa Kadenhe

After qualifying in Manchester in 2008, Ruwa moved to South Wales, completed her VT year and worked in General Dental Practice in Newport and Cardiff for seven years. She now owns a dental practice in Ogmore Vale, Bridgend where she enjoys mentoring foundation dental therapists and foundation dentists. Ogmore Valley Family Dental is a mixed contract reform practice 85% NHS. Ruwa is currently studying towards a diploma in orthodontics but also takes an active role in her local dental committee.She is proud mum to four boys and heads up several programs for underprivileged women both in UK and Zimbabwe through the church.
