Simon Chard

​Simon BDS(Hons) BSc(Hons) qualified with Honours from King's College London Dental Institute; he was awarded the prestigious Academy of Operative Dentistry Award given to the top student in the year for clinical dentistry.  In 2015 he was voted the Best Young Dentist in London and also the overall Best Young Dentist in the UK at the prestigious Dentistry Awards. Simon is director of membership for the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has a strong focus towards achieving optimal aesthetic results utilising minimally invasive techniques. Simon is a rising star in the field of cosmetic dentistry and is a big promoter of the digital revolution within this field. He is a key opinion leader for Dentsply Sirona and lectures internationally on the use of digital workflows in restorative, orthodontic and implant dentistry. Simon is an avid photographer and has trained hundreds of dentists on the art and science of macro dental photography. Simon practices cosmetic and implant dentistry in his clinic; Rothley Lodge Dental which he owns with his wife Meghan in Staines-Upon-Thames

Aubrey Craig

Aubrey qualified at the University of Dundee in 1987 (BDS) and has worked in hospital posts and as an associate and principal in general dental practice. He gained an FDS from the RCPS Glasgow in 1991, an MPhil in Medical Law from the University of Glasgow in 2001 and an MBA from the Caledonian University, Glasgow in 2009. Aubrey worked as a partner in an NHS vocational training practice in Glasgow from 1994 until 2009 and is a former clinical teacher in restorative dentistry at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School. Aubrey joined MDDUS in January 2006 and took on his role as Head of Dental Division in 2009. With over a hundred years' experience of assisting members, MDDUS offer dentists access to occurrence-based professional indemnity as well as access to unlimited settlement of damages and uncapped legal costs. Aubrey and his team of experienced dento-legal advisers also provide assistance with patient complaints, claims of negligence and referrals to the GDC.

​Alexander Crighton

​Alexander was born in Dundee and trained in Dentistry and Medicine at Edinburgh University. He has worked in all of the Scottish Dental Schools and in General Hospitals from Inverness to Taunton. Currently he is a Consultant/Honorary Senior Lecturer in Oral Medicine in Glasgow and is the teaching lead for Clinical Medical Sciences, which includes Medical and Pharmacology topics. Alexander currently is the Dental Representative to the NHS GGC Area Drugs and Therapeutics Committee and the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group.

Heather Dallas

Heather spent ten years as a senior training manager at Deloitte before starting Dallas Development in January 2000. As well as running various programmes for the BDA, Heather is also a motivational and inspiring public speaker and personal coach in personal impact and career development.  Her specialist areas are management skills, team working, personal impact, train the trainers, presentation skills, life balance and handling conflict.  She is a qualified MBTI Practitioner, Belbin Team Roles Consultant, Strengths Deployment Inventory Consultant and NLP Master Practitioner and Emotional Intelligence Practitioner

Jeane Freeman

​Born and raised in Ayr, Jeane attended the Glasgow College of Technology and studied sociology and politics before establishing Apex Scotland, a criminal justice employment organisation. She was also a member of the Parole Board for Scotland. Jeane chaired the National Waiting Times Centre Board and was a member of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland. In 1996, she was awarded an OBE for her services to the rehabilitation of offenders. Jeane was elected as the Scottish Parliament member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley in 2016. Jeane Freeman OBE was appointed Minister for Social Security in May 2016

Jonathan Kallow

​Jonathan works as a Specialist in Special Care Dentistry in Fife Public Dental Service. He cares for a broad spectrum of special care patients including providing domiciliary care. He is Deputy Chair of the Specialty Advisory Board in Special Care Dentistry and Oral Medicine for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is an examiner for the Tri-Collegiate Membership in Special Care Dentistry and for the Diploma in Special Care Dentistry of theRoyal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Jen Kirby

Jen is a Speciality Registrar in Paediatric Dentistry at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Qualifying from the University of Glasgow in 2010 she has continued her professional development in general dental practice, community and hospital. In 2014 she commenced her specialty training in Paediatric Dentistry in Sheffield and completed a Masters in Paediatric Dentistry with distinction in 2016. In 2016 she took a secondment from her training to commence a Leadership Fellowship within the Community Dental Services in Sheffield developing pathways focused upon improving the management of missed dental appointments and earlier information sharing with other professionals. She now is in her final year of speciality training. 

Lee McArthur

​Lee has been an infection control dental support nurse for the past ten years within the Dental Directorate of NHS Education for Scotland. She is part of a team responsible for developing and providing infection control and decontamination training and education to dental teams throughout Scotland, both in practice and at post graduate events.  She qualified as a dental nurse in 1997 and has extensive experience working in all aspects of dentistry including general dental practice, community and hospital dental services. Prior to working in infection control, she specialised in conscious sedation for eight years and gained a merit award for her qualification in conscious sedation for dental nurses in 2002. As well as working for NHS Education for Scotland, she continues to work clinically in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Emergency Dental Service.

​Melonie Prebble

​Melonie has been a  member of the dental industry for more than 20 years. She qualified as a dental hygienist and therapist in 1995 at The London Hospital Medical College and as a Master Neuro
Linguistic Programming Coach in 2013. She currently practices at Abbey Road Dental in North West London and Neel Dentistry, Welwyn, Hertfordshire. Mel is a national speaker and on the editorial board of multiple publications. She enjoys facilitating post graduate training and clinical practice. Mel is a key opinions leader for Dentsply Sirona and Phillips Oral healthcare

​Attiq graduated in 1994 from Glasgow University and immediately entered general dentistry. Attiq developed an interest in the emerging field of cosmetic dentistry and began a programme of further education which continues to this day. Postgraduate training with other leading cosmetic dentists and techniques developed himself has ensured that patients receive the highest standards of care. Dr Rahman provides a complete range of implant dentistry and complex restorative treatments at Bupa Dental Care Glasgow, Miller Street.

Graeme Ramage

Graeme  has been a BASICS responder for many years tasked by the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend pre-hospital medical and trauma emergencies within the Forth Valley Area. He is an Instructor with the Resuscitation Council (UK), a graduate of The European Resuscitation Academy and an Instructor and course director with The British Association of Immediate Care Scotland. In April 2012 Graeme took up a position within BASICS as a Sandpiper Clinical Teaching Fellow providing pre-hospital emergency education training throughout Scotland. He provides training in partnership with NHS Education Scotland to remote and rural practitioners in medicine paramedicine and nursing and has been involved in delivering medical Emergencies and resuscitation within dental practice for over 20 years.

Reza Vahid Roudsari

​Reza is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. He works as the Director of Undergraduate Education for the School of Dentistry at the University of Manchester and teaches undergraduate BDS students as well as postgraduate students on the MSc and MScClin programmes in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. A large proportion of patients treated under Reza's care at the dental hospital and private practice are affected by moderate to severe tooth surface loss and he has lectured on this topic at national forums.  

Joon Seong

​Joon is a graduate of the University of Bristol and is registered to the General Dental Council. Currently, Joon works as a Clinical Research Fellow and a Specialist Periodontist at the Bristol Dental School, University of Bristol. His research interests include developing research methodologies, periodontal conditions, bone augmentation and peri-implant lesions, the scientific evaluation of oral health care products for toothwear, dentine hypersensitivity and tooth whitening. He has conducted over 50 clinical
research studies with many publications in peer-reviewed journals. Joon is heavily involved with both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training of Periodontology at the University of Bristol and lectures in the national and international fora.

Elizabeth Theaker

Elizabeth obtained her BDS from the University of Sheffield in 1984 and in 1987 was appointed to a lecturer post at the University of Manchester where she was able to pursue her passion for learning and teaching and to shape University policy in these areas. In 2002 she was admitted to the Specialist List in Oral Medicine and in 2010 moved to Dundee to take up her current post of Consultant/Honorary Senior Lecturer in Oral Medicine. Elizabeth feels we have a great opportunity to enhance the way in which we provide oral medicine services in Scotland, and she extremely pleased to be able to play a part in this and to encourage you to do the same.

Sharon White

Sharon qualified in dentistry at Dundee Dental School in 1996 and completed General Professional Training prior to working in general practice. Following SHO and clinical research posts, she was awarded a MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship and obtained a PhD in Human Genetics. After specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology in Ninewells Hospital & Medical School, Sharon was appointed Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in Oral Pathology, University of Dundee.

Victoria Wilson

​Victoria began her journey as a Dental Therapist at the Eastman Dental Hospital London in 2001, and has been totally dedicated to her profession since. Victoria's extensive professional experience spans over 2 continents, having worked within practice in the UK in the NHS and private sector, and the UAE private sector. She is the Founder of the Emirates Dental Hygienist Club and former president.  Victoria is a member of the House of Delegates for the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH) and currently sits on the Communication and Public Relations committee for the IFDH. Victoria consults for Enlighten Smiles and is a KOL for Philips Oral Healthcare sonicare business and Dentsply Sirona.
