Aims

This one-day seminar will focus on layering and shading concepts to identify the most efficient approach to smile rehabilitation. It will present various 2D and 3D digital imaging and treatment planning protocols to improve treatment efficiency, functional and aesthetic outcome.

Attendees will learn about conceptual and clinical aspects of anterior "bio-aesthetic" adhesive restorations aiming to enhance young and adult smiles with emphasis on no-prep and minimally invasive techniques using resin composites alone or in combination with ceramics.

  • Minimally invasive rehabilitation of the smile line and anterior guidance in patient with various aesthetic deficiencies

  • Margin design to create invisible partial composite restorations
  • Finishing and polishing protocols to create outstanding primary and secondary anatomy and surface gloss.

About the speaker

Dr Didier Dietschi

Senior Lecturer, University of Geneva and Private Practitioner, Geneva, Switzerland

Dr Didier Dietschi got his doctoral and Privat Docent degrees in 1988 and 2004, respectively, at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He also got a PhD degree in 2003 at the University of ACTA, Netherlands. Following a six year period of full time teaching and research activity in Operative Dentistry and Periodontology, he started a part time activity in a private office in Geneva, dedicated to aesthetic restorative dentistry. He now holds positions of adjunct Professor at CASE Western University (USA) and senior lecturer at the University of Geneva.

Dr Dietschi has published over 115 clinical and scientific papers and book chapters on adhesive and aesthetic restorations. He has co-authored the book Adhesive metal-free restorations, by Quintessence and translated into seven languages. Dr Dietschi is internationally acclaimed for his theoretical and practical teaching programmes on adhesive and aesthetic restorations.

The seminar meets the educational criteria set by the GDC for CPD (6 hours) and is certified by the British Dental Association.
