What to expect
There is an increase in patients suffering from and seeking treatment for tooth surface loss. There are many new contemporary options to treat these patients with a '3 Step' step-by-step and additive approach. This one-day event will discuss and review these new contemporary and restorative approaches and treatment strategies to help patients from a minimal invasive treatment option to more comprehensive treatments.
Treatment planning is thus essential when planning and preparing these cases next to the natural dentition. This event will highlight the use of the digital work flow from scanning to wax ups to mock up for the patients and how to plan the increase in the vertical dimension.
When planning these cases, a full team approach is vital and the need to look at the possibility of orthodontics for alignment and periodontist to look at the gum heights and margins, will need to be considered.
Whitening to improve the base shade before the restorations, and a sensitivity protocol will be required as may patients may have sensitivity. Whilst the shade selection of restorations, can depend on many factors, such as lighting in the surgery, background lighting and daylight. There are many variations in what the dentist may see when trying to choose the correct shade. A combination approach of using digital photos, shade taking devices and direct vision will be discussed and how to select the perfect shade every time.
Bonding techniques for use of onlays and inlays will be discussed. Use of zirconia for crowns, onlays and onlays and cementation and bonding techniques for Zirconia
The importance of maintenance is vital and the need for a bite plate to protect the restorations.
