What to expect
The presentation will cover the demographic background of the dentate elderly, societal influences on the delivery of care, an example of evidence-based care and scenarios of the executions of treatment plans, including the management of tooth wear
The speaker will provide an overview of the context and modalities of delivery of oral care for the elderly dentate patient.
After the lecture the Section Annual General Meeting will be taking place. All BDA members welcome and encouraged to attend.

Meet the speaker
Francis Burke Retired Senior Lecturer, Restorative Dentistry, University College Cork, Ireland
Francis Burke was Senior Lecturer/Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in University College Cork. He has worked previously in general dental practice in Dover, Kent and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Past appointments have included Chair of the Training and Education Committee of the Dental Council of Ireland, President of the British Society of Gerodontology, the British Association of Teachers of Conservative Dentistry and the Irish Division of the International Association for Dental Research. He has co-edited “Clinical Cases in Gerodontology” and published and over sixty peer-reviewed papers including editing the Dental Update series on Gerodontology.
