Ellie Henderson is currently a biologics specialist nurse in dermatology, based in Belfast City Hospital, BHSCT. She has been in her current specialist role for over 5 years but has in excess of 16 years dermatology nursing experience to date. Ellie’s primary interests are in chronic disease management and nurse education. She was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Nursing and Health Sciences and later received a PG Cert in non-medical prescribing. As part of her role, she runs both virtual and face-face clinics, managing an extensive group of patients with various chronic skin conditions. In addition to her clinical role, Ellie has been involved as a speaker at regional meetings and at Queens University Belfast. She has recently taken up the role of co-chair of the NI Dermatology Nurse Annual Meeting and has established a regional nurse networking group since 2018. In 2020 she was first to receive The Management of Psoriasis awards at the NI Healthcare Awards.

Dr Danielle McGeown graduated with a first-class honours’ degree from Trinity College Dublin in 2008. Over the following years she worked in both private practice, community care and hospital-based dentistry in Ireland and Australia. In 2012 she commenced full-time specialist training in Special Care Dentistry in Trinity College Dublin. She completed her doctorate thesis on the outcomes of dental treatment provided under general anaesthesia for adults with disabilities. In 2021 she was awarded a Membership in Special Care Dentistry by the Royal College Surgeons Edinburgh and in 2022 a Fellowship by the International Association for Disability and Oral Health (iADH). She is currently undertaking a PhD investigating dental aerosols in a diverse patient group within community practice. Since 2015 she has worked for the HSE Dental Services in Cork, with her specialist practice limited to the care of children and adults with varying disabilities or medical complexities. Since 2020 she has taught the medical complexities modules in the Doctorate (DChDent) in Special Care Dentistry program in Trinity College Dublin. She is a past President of the Irish Society for Disability and Oral Health (ISDH) and a Council Member for the International Association for Disability and Oral Health (IADH).
