What to expect

This lecture will explore the challenges, obstacles and barriers to delivering emergency care following dental injuries in neurodivergent paediatric patients.

During the evening, the Branch Annual General Meeting will be taking place, all BDA members are encouraged to attend.

Meet the speaker

Ghaida Al-Jaddir Senior Paediatric Dental Consultant and Clinical Lead, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Ghaida graduated from Baghdad Dental School/University of Baghdad Iraq BDS. She gained Statuary exam requalification from the GDC in England and Trained as a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry at the Royal London Hospital. She completed her Master’s in Clinical Dentistry at Queen Mary and Westfield Medical College. Gained both MFDS and FDS (Paediatric Dentistry) from the Royal College of Physician and Surgeon in Glasgow. Completed Diploma in Higher Education and teaching from Kings College.

Ghaida has been a Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for the last 12 years and a Consultant at The Royal Brompton Hospital (Paediatric Cardiac and Respiratory Centre).

She is an Examiner for the ORE exams for the GDC and a previous examiner for MPaed Dent and ISFE in Paediatric Dentistry for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.

Previously she has been a Lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry for undergraduate and post graduate students at The Royal London Hospital and King’s College Dental Schools. She has also been the Chair of the South East Branch of the BSPD (2022-2023).

An education supervisor and clinical lead at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Head of the Dental Department at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Service Director of Paediatric Surgical Subspecialty at West London Hospital.

Ghaida gained an MBA with distinction from Ashridge/Hult International Business School.

She was awarded Asian Woman of the Year in 2021.
