What to expect
We will start the event with a buffet with an opportunity to network with your peers. Emma Lawley will present a session titled 'Shifting sands', discussing technical teaching in undergraduate curricula for fixed and removable prosthodontics and the move towards digital workflows. The Branch AGM will then follow and is open to BDA members only.

Learning objectives
- Understand the rationale for approaches to technical teaching within BDS Clinical Skills courses at Newcastle University
- Discuss the links between clinical and laboratory stages and the importance of clear and effective communication between team members
- Understand how and where digital technology might be introduced to the undergraduate curriculum to enhance learning
- Consider analogue and digital workflows with regards to sustainability.

Meet the speaker
Emma Lawley Lecturer in Dental Technology, Newcastle University Dental School
Emma is a Lecturer in Dental Technology at Newcastle University Dental School. She began her career in the Royal Air Force, where she gained extensive experience in all aspects of dental technology. After 18 years’ service, using her knowledge and expertise she transitioned to teaching at Newcastle Dental School to BDS undergraduate and post graduate students. Additionally, she serves as an External Examiner at the University of Aberdeen.
