What to expect

Join the Plymouth Section Committee and speaker Rachel Parkes who will be providing a brief overview of current concepts in paediatric dentistry focusing on biological and minimally invasive approaches to treating dental caries in children.

Meet the speaker

Rachel Parkes 3 Rachel Parkes Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry, Plymouth Community Dental Services

Having graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2008, Rachel undertook training roles in maxillofacial and oral surgery, community dentistry and paediatric dentistry in South Wales before working in general dental practice. It was during this time that Rachel realised her passion for paediatric dentistry and was appointed onto the speciality training programme at Cardiff Dental Hospital which she successfully completed in 2016. Following this, Rachel worked at Cardiff Dental School as a Specialist and Senior Clinical Teacher until 2021. Missing Devon, Rachel relocated back to her hometown of Plymouth to work as a Specialist in Plymouth Community Dental Services. Her interests are behaviour management approaches to aid in treating anxious children, sedation for children and adolescents and minimally invasive dentistry
