What to expect

This event will ensure that delegates understand the evolution of modern endodontics. The lecture will also discuss the treatment of the necrotic and inflamed pulp and preserve pulp vitality.

Learning objectives

  • To understand the aetiology of endodontic infection and the pathophysiology of pulpal disease
  • Provide an overview of endodontic therapies and how to preserve pulp vitality
  • To know what therapies might be available to us in the future to treat pulpal diseases
  • To appreciate the difficulties in providing universal dental health to populations in the UK that are becoming socio-economically divergent.

Meet the speaker

Nigel Foot 250X250 Nigel Foot

Nigel Foot qualified as dentist from Newcastle University in 1979. He worked in oral surgery for four years after qualifying and then seven years working in general practice in the NHS. In 1994, he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Endodontology from the University of London and gained his Membership in Dental Surgery (RCS England) in 1995. Nigel then worked exclusively as an Endodontic Specialist in private practice in Newbury for the next 25 years. He retired from dental practice in December 2019. He is currently a West Berkshire District Councillor.
