What to expect

This evening with Gillian Leslie will provide an update from Scottish Government based on up-to-date information at the time of the lecture.

This will include: 

  • An update on current CDO workstreams
  • An update on reform including current published data for Det 1
  • Opportunity to discuss the challenges the sector is currently facing.

Meet the speaker

Gillian Leslie V3 250X250 Gillian Leslie Deputy Chief Dental Officer, Scottish Government

Gillian Leslie is one of the Deputy Chief Dental Officers in Scottish Government.

She has been heavily involved in the reform of the Determination 1, working with stakeholders and the dental sector.

Gillian’s main roles include being the DCDO for the West and North Health Boards, Quality Assurance and Governance, engaging with stakeholders, IPC and advising on clinical policy framework.

She is also a practice owner in East Lothian and a practicing dentist with a specialist interest in oral surgery.

The first part of her career was spent in the Royal Navy where she became the first Royal Naval female dentist in a war zone. She retired after 13 years as a Surgeon Lieutenant Commander (D).

The nearest train stations to the college are Glasgow Central (0.3 miles away) and Queen Street train station (0.6 miles away). 

Parking
On street car parking
Parking bays are located on St Vincent Street, Blythswood Street and Douglas Street which surround the building. Parking is chargeable Monday – Sunday by using the meter or Ringo app. Blue badge holders can park in bays free of charge.

Multi-storey car parks
Q-Park Waterloo Street is the closest multi-storey car park to the College (2 minute drive or 3 minute walk). Further information available on Q-Park website
