What to expect

Implementation of human factors training has helped make commercial aviation fundamentally safe over the last 40 years. The basic principle is to avoid avoidable error and consequent harm. While there are obvious differences, Trevor Dale will share the practical skills that can enhance dental safety, saving emotional, psychological and financial cost. He will raise awareness of the concepts related to avoidable errors, promote learning from successes rather than focusing on errors and encourage effective safety behaviour.

Meet the speaker

Trevor Dale 250X250 Trevor Dale

Trevor co-founded Atrainability in 2002 and is a former training Captain with British Airways and member of their development training team. This team had developed and delivered the Human Factors based training that revolutionised flight training in the 1990's and continues.

In 2002 Trevor first tackled healthcare with participation in a research project at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children, in London. That work delved into the non-clinical skills of teamworking for safety and resulted in multiple peer-reviewed papers. From there projects for the Royal College of Surgeons and across the UK NHS and a multitude of public and private healthcare organisations followed.

He is currently delivering lectures, coaching and training in Human Factors across all areas of healthcare and other high risk and high reliability professions, including, emergency services, liquified petroleum gas distribution and aviation with training providers and the ICAO cabin crew training working group.
