What to expect

Rhian Jones will provide GDPs with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage emergencies related to dental implants. She will also ensure delegates are able to identify, prevent and respond to potential implant-related complications in a timely and professional manner.

Learning objectives

  • Identify common implant-related emergencies such as implant failure, peri-implantitis, and mechanical complications (e.g. abutment loosening)
  • Understand the underlying causes of these emergencies, including surgical and prosthetic factors
  • Diagnose and assess the severity of implant complications based on clinical examination and radiographs.

Rhian Jones 250X250 Rhian Jones Specialist Oral Surgeon

Rhian qualified from Cardiff in 1997 and apart from her VT year has dedicated her career to Oral Surgery. Following the successful completion of the SpR post at Birmingham Dental Hospital she was admitted to the Surgical Dentistry Specialist List in 2004. Even at the start of her training, Rhian felt passionately that, for many patients, oral surgery could be delivered in a Primary Care setting.
