1

You are not alone

We all know dentistry can be an isolating profession to work in.

Get engaged.

Go along to your local BDA young dentist group or branch or section and talk to people.

2

Don't fear the GDC

Many younger dentists say they 'fear' the GDC and patient litigation.

If you are doing the best for your patients and following GDC standards, then you are practising correctly and ethically.

Seek support and advice from those around you – get a mentor.

3

Use your CPD to reflect

Reflective learning is an important part of your CPD record.

It's essential you do this to help you develop as a professional.

Do your reflective learning just for you offline, and then include a short summary confirmation in your formal CPD record.
