​DCPs reminded to declare indemnity and renew registration by 31 July 2018

Dental Care Professionals must ensure they have paid their Annual Retention Fee and made their indemnity declaration by the end of this month. Failure to do so could result in their removal from the GDC's register leaving them unable to work until they are restored, which is a lengthier process than renewal and disruptive to ongoing work.


DCPs who reach the end of their DCP cycle this summer must also make their final declaration of compliance with current requirements.


The easiest way to complete the Annual Renewal process is online at, however registrants can also pay the ARF and declare their Indemnity by calling 0800 197 4610.

All DCPs, whether at the end of their DCP cycle or only part-way through, will move to the Enhanced CPD scheme from 1 August 2018. They need to familiarise themselves with changed requirements, including the need for a PDP, annual mandatory declarations, and an alignment of CPD activity with specific development outcomes. Dentists joined the new scheme in January 2018.
