Membership of the BDA Benevolent Fund
5 March 2019
All BDA members automatically become members of the BDA Benevolent Fund upon joining the BDA.
What does the Fund do?
The charity supports all dental students, current or previous dentists in financial need, and relies upon the generosity of dentists, dental organisations and companies to be able to continue their work.
Benevolent Fund applicants do not need to be a member of either the BDA or the BDA Benevolent Fund to qualify for support.
How are BDA members involved?
Members oversee the charity and have the responsibility and authority to exercise voting rights at the Annual General Meeting or other Extraordinary General Meeting.
Members elect the Board of Trustees who oversee the charity on their behalf.
Following a clarification of the legal situation, the BDA's membership terms and conditions have been updated to reflect this.
