Northern Ireland: Branch events, AGM and President
18 August 2020
The BDA NI Branch Council have met to consider how our branch can safely offer a service to members as this pandemic continues.
We have made the difficult decision to cancel all remaining face to face CPD and social events for 2020. It is hoped that some of these events can be run in 2021. In the meantime, we’re looking at options for remote learning for Northern Ireland members, and we encourage you to explore the online CPD resources and member webinars available.
It was also decided that the Branch President for 2020, Paul Brennan, should continue in post until next year. Which means the 2021 President, Peter Crooks, will commence his term in 2022. In the meantime, we plan to host the NI Branch AGM, due to take place on Tuesday 10 November, remotely.
Your branch will be in contact with you regularly throughout the year, primarily by email, social media and on our website. Please keep your details updated on bda.org/mybda to make sure you don’t miss out on any important information. You can also join the BDA NI Branch Facebook Group for the latest updates.
Branch President for 2020, Paul Brennan, has said:
“I know that dentistry can be, even in the best of times, extremely stressful, but the level of pressure now being experienced by the dental community is the greatest in our long history. And so I want to thank you all for your continuous support.”
“I look forward to when we are able to see each other in person once again. In the meantime, please look after yourself and your colleagues. This is a difficult time for many. But wellbeing resources are available from Health Assured for all BDA members, I encourage you to make use of them.”
